      General project parameters

      The order comprised manufacturing a 2C injection mould incl. several pre-series tests at the injection moulding technical centre.  The entire tool manufacturing was undertaken at the German site. Extensive tests and optimization work proved to be essential.

      Given a marked distortion of the plastic parts after injection of the soft components, a number of TPE plastics of various manufacturers and types were tested.  Injection of the soft components brought about that distortion which had not been seen in the Moldflow simulation at the start of the project.

      The project underlined AsMoPLAST’s qualities in engineering and in project optimization work at the injection moulding technical centre. Thanks to the extensive tests and improvements, the perfect injection moulded part for the individual requirements was developed and produced in the last resort for the customer.

      Description - Injection moulded parts

      • The injection moulded parts were manufactured with the PA6 GF30+ and TPE plastics.
      • In particular, material selection of the injection moulded parts represented a challenge.
      • To finally identify the perfect plastic for optimum deployment in series manufacturing, extensive tests were carried out with various TPEs as pre-series.
      • This eliminated the marked distortion thanks to suitable material pairing.
      • The injection moulded part will be used in a gritter.
