      General project parameters

      The contract from a new regional customer included a tool set of four 1x injection moulding tools with diverse change-over variants.  The design followed in close consultation with the customer (gating, allowances etc.). Tool manufacturing, sampling inspection and initial correction loop were carried out in China.

      AsMoPLAST effected on-site documentation of the initial sampling inspection on the customer’s sheets in China. On the other hand, final corrections after the sampling inspection on the customer’s production machine were dealt with by AsMoPlast at the Endingen injection moulding centre. The injection moulded parts are also series-produced in Germany. Overall, the project is a prime example of AsMoPLAST’s dual system.

      Particularly worth noting: A hard-to-please new customer who was highly sceptical of injection moulding tools being made in China was emphatically won over to the idea. The purchaser appears to be highly satisfied with the tool quality. The outcome: Follow-up orders are on-going (8x mould and 4x permanent runner with thread unscrewing.

      • Gating via hot nozzle and cold runner.
      • Currently two nozzles and cold runner needed for complex cavity gating.
      • Sprue and item were de-moulded separately.

      • The injected moulded parts for the electrical engineering industry were made with PC plastic.
      • The thin walls, in particular, of the injection moulded parts represented a challenge.
      • As such, they were difficult to fill and 2-3 change-over variants per part were needed.
