General project parameters

The contract from a new regional customer comprised a tool set featuring 12 items in 7 injection moulding tools with use made of family tools for right /left parts.

The dual AsMoPLAST system formed the ideal basis for the production: Tool manufacturing, sampling and corrections were carried out in China and series production at the injection moulding centre in Germany

The project included a number of difficult requirements to meet. To be mentioned in particular is the extremely tight lead time, all the more so as the customer aimed to have the initial sample ready for an exhibition at very short notice. To keep to this deadline, very close personal consultation with the customer was necessary as was on-site monitoring the manufacture of the injection moulding tool in China.

What came about was a mould fracture during the initial sampling inspection Thanks to the presence of AsMoPLAST in China, both tool and item were re-designed and the slide produced anew within one week. Thus the deadline was kept to despite everything.

Description - Injection moulded parts

• The injection moulded parts for the furniture industry were manufactured with PA6GF15, PC-ABS, and ABS plastics.
• Dyeing them into three different metallic tints was particularly demanding given how extremely susceptible they are to smearing.
• They are assembled with other sheet metal and glass components into drawers of various sizes for a kitchen.
• The parts are shrink-wrapped and labelled in a PE bag in line with customer stipulations ready to be sold.
